This Lent term, we are delighted to invite you to our special Vocabulary, Problem-Solving & Debating Group Workshop, an interactive session at the Churchill War Rooms designed to enhance communication and reasoning skills through engaging activities, games, group debating and public speaking.

The event will take place on Saturday 15th March from 10 am to 1 pm at the Churchill War Rooms, Private Learning Cabinet Room, including a tour of the iconic historic rooms.

At Nimble Minds & the Socratic Club we recognise the importance of a strong vocabulary, logical thinking, and confident communication. These skills are essential for developing critical reasoning, persuasive expression, and effective problem-solving – all crucial for academic success and beyond.

Throughout the workshop, our members will engage in activities designed to challenge their thinking, build confidence and improve their ability to express ideas effectively. In the spirit of Winston Churchill, whose speeches and debates were instrumental in shaping history, our members will also engage in group debating inspired by the location and drawing on Churchill’s own eloquence and persuasive power.

Following the workshop, we will embark on a tour of the Churchill War Rooms, the historic underground bunker where Winston Churchill and his government directed Britain’s war effort during World War II. The tour will provide insight into the leadership, decision-making, and resilience of those pivotal years.

Limited spaces available – book early to secure a spot! We look forward to seeing you on Saturday 15th March!
