The Nimble Minds Programme is devised to:

• provide a sound base for the understanding of Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning concepts.
• give children practise with writing short, timed Reasoning tests under exam conditions.
• provide each child with a positive experience of working constructively in group activities with children from other schools.
• include an investigation/problem solving session.
• provide opportunities of participating in group discussions.
• include a debating session led by a children’s debating specialist
• engage children in enjoyable thinking games. These are carefully chosen to boost critical thinking, vocabulary, concentration, processing speed, working memory, creativity and collaboration.

These group sessions are designed to be enjoyable and to boost your child’s confidence.

Total cost for the course = £650. This includes all resources, stationery and materials. A talk by Lucy Watts (educational consultant) offering practical advice and tips on navigating the 7+ process is also included for those parents interested.

Note that this particular course is suitable for children in Reception who are working well at levels above their classmates and who are able to read independently. We don’t normally do this in the Autumn and Spring terms but for the Summer it can work for the right children to be in a group with those a year ahead of them in school.
